Ayuo (born October 19, 1960, in Tokyo, Japan and raised in New York City) is a composer, poet, lyricist, singer and performer of plucked string instruments including guitar, bouzouki, Irish harp and medieval instruments. Ayuo was an early member of Keiji Haino's Fushitsusha. Solo albums by Ayuo were released from 1984 onwards on Epic-Sony, JVC VIctor, MIDI Records, Tzadik, Zipangu, Seoul Records, Belle Antique, FOA Records, PSF Records. Most of these CDs can be seen and bought on Amazon by searching the name Ayuo. He has also composed many music- theater pieces, inspired by literary works. Worked with Peter Hammill, Ryuichi Sakamoto, members of The Pentangle, Steeleye Span. Fairport Convention, the guitarist-composer Carlos Alomar (band leader of David Bowie's band from the late 1970s to the late 1980s and composer of the hit song "Fame"), Jadranka Stojaković, and the producer musicians John Zorn and Bill Laswell and many studio musicians who regularly perform with Paul McCartney, Robert Plant, Elton John and others.Reviews of Ayuo's CDs in English can be seen at the following link:
