HACKSAW TO THE THROAT is a progressive death/grind that formed in Oakland, California (San Francisco Bay Area) in 1999.

The band originally consisted of 2 members, but eventually 2 others joined the fold to make the line up of Ben Caragol on vocals and guitar, Victor Dods on guitar, Justin Hughes on drums and Caysen Russo on bass, whom was eventually replaced with Lumpy Stapley.

The band's sound is a mix of hardcore, progressive death metal, and they even cite jazz musicians and Radiohead as being an influence on their sound.
