Spread out across the desert plains,
In the oceans of sand…
Beneath the scorching sun,
ancient relics stand.
The tombs, monoliths, temples of old
What lies within is not of glory and gold.
The light of Ra’s wings fades,
the shadows arise.
Omens evermore clear,
This eve brings my plight.
This is the night that the stars shall die,
As chaos dominates and I am blind.
Ancient curses are evoked as I descend
Before Horus’ eye.
Deceived, betrayed and bound, I descend.
I reach the pit of the ancient chamber; when will this madness end?!
Gravity, agony as I regain my senses.
As I stumble through the stygian passageways,
My mind begins to drift in its tortured haze.
I see golden, barren lands and men with heads of beasts.
As the gods’ procession ends, so will this fateful night.
My escape comes at last, beckoning the light.

Cycle of Idols
04:32
|
|||
Long gone is the time when in deities we’d trust,
The statues crumbling for aeons in the dust.
Idolatry, years later, meets the gaze of scorn.
The principle denied, but the habit not forlorn.
We think we know our principles,
we think we know our ways.
We uphold grand ideas, yet eventually we stray.
Engrained deep within us, yet we dare not see
The true extent of our bitter reality.
Spiritual attrition,
a world in denial.
Revolving within
the cycle of idols.
A new messiah rises, soon to be replaced.
Until their demise, the memory is erased.
A legacy forgotten or forever carved in stone;
Immortalised, deified
They cower to mortals, new age deities
The cycle continues and it slowly feeds blurred lines of myth and reality.

The Tyrant's Bane
05:28
|
|||
In secrecy, a growing cult conspires;
Desolation, revelation in fire.
The prophecy, the rise of Sirius shall bring
A tragedy, leaving the temples smouldering
Ave Nero!
Inferno surged, as they once proclaimed.
The tables turned, for when Rome had burned,
they bore the tyrant’s bane.
Fear my return, for by steed I ride
to my domain, singing its dirge.
O Roman eagle, like a phoenix rise
and let the traitors bear the flame and scourge!

Sun Disc Cataclysm
07:04
|

The crown of Ra has fallen, all lies in disarray.
The new god has awoken, to the pantheon’s dismay.
Pillars of the horizon grow, as the blazing star takes hold
Turmoil propagates and our sovereign idols fall.
Solitarily, the Aten dawns
as one divine dictation.
Time has come to venerate the one
and only god.
The glory is fading,
The oases have dried.
A point of no return, evoked by her demise.
Sorrow breeds resentment; wrath behind those cold, distant eyes…
Isfet has consumed the king; Amun, unsatisfied.
To bear the brunt of fate itself, his image nullified.
A name defaced in the stone, once grand and pristine.
This time the Aten would rise once more and forever rule supreme.
One Divine Dictation.
