Dope is an American nu metal band from New York City, New York formed in 1997. The band has released six full-length studio albums with their most recent studio album, Blood Money Part 1, being released on October 28, 2016. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dope_(band)
Dope (англ. "дурь", "наркота" - слэнг.) — американская рок-группа из Чикаго, исполняющая ню-метал с элементами индастриалa. Была основана в 1997 году. Группа добилась успеха в конце 90-х, начале 2000-х. На текущий момент группа выпустила шесть полноформатных альбомов, последний, «Blood Money Part 1», вышел 28 октября 2016 года. Группа была основана вокалистом и автором текстов Эдселем Доупом в 1997 году. В детстве, Эдсель и его брат, Саймон Доуп, были разлучены когда их родители развелись. Как только они подросли Эдсель взял Саймона в свою группу играть на клавишных. В коллективе уже присутствовали Трипп Эйзен (басист), Престон Нэш (ударник) и Слоан Джентри (гитара).
В отличие от других групп конца 90-х, стиль звучания «Dope» являлся смесью ню и индастриала и был похож на звучание Nine Inch Nails, Ministry,Skinny Puppy и Static-X. В начале своего пути группа продавала наркотики и на полученные деньги покупала музыкальные инструменты. К сведению: «Dope» переводится как «Наркотик». У группы есть некоторые связи с «Marilyn Manson»; барабанщик Джинджер Фиш жил в одном номере с Эдселем в Лас-Вегасе, прежде чем каждый из них попал в свою группу. Также гитарист Зим Зам разрешил группе написать «продюсер Зим Зам» на обложке их демодиска, чтобы группе было легче заключить контракт с компанией. Сначала так и планировалось, что Зим Зам спродюсирует их дебютный диск, но Зам был занят записью альбома «Mechanical Animals». American Apathy is the fourth studio album by nu metal band Dope. It was released July 26, 2005 on Artemis Records and managed to sell 9,000 copies in it's first week according to Nielsen SoundScan

Disappointed with the label's perceived lack of promotion for the album, the band left Epic and joined Artemis Records, a New York independent record label. Lead guitarist Virus, would now act as sole guitarist in Slade's departure, and he would contribute to the songwriting significantly.
Dope's third studio album was titled Group Therapy. It was innovative in that it also featured a video for each song; meaning in total those who purchased the album received thirteen audio songs and videos. One song from that album, Today is the Day served as the official theme song for WWE's pay-per-view event No Mercy in October 2003. The songs "Falling Away", "Bitch", "Motivation", "Burn", and "So Low" were featured in the video game; MTX Mototrax, in both full and instrumental versions. By 2005 Dope had regrouped once more, the band had a new bassist; Brix Milner. For their new album entitled American Apathy, the band returned to a harder sound similar in some respects to their debut, in an Industrial metal style. Amongst the 14 tracks present was a cover of Depeche Mode's "People Are People".
Although released eight years after the band formed, four albums in and on an independent label, American Apathy performed well in the charts. It was a #1 hit on the Top Heatseekers chart, for the first time in the band's history and it also saw the band's highest charting on the Billboard chart to date.
Ironically, Ben Graves of the Murderdolls joined Dope as the live drummer on a tour of Japan. In fact that wasn't the only inter-group mixing between the two bands; in 2006 Brix Milner filled in for the injured Kid Kid on bass, in Murderdolls front man Wednesday 13's solo band.
Edsel Dope and Virus became involved in an alternative pop rock side-project with Edsel playing drums, called Makeshift Romeo. This also witnessed Edsel removing his dreadlocks which he had worn all throughout his time with Dope. wikipedia

Дебютная работа, ударная смесь индастриала и альтернативы, а вообще их последующие работы мне напоминают стиль игры Fear Facktory и Coal Chamber-а и Мэнсона...но более агрессивный

The track listing on the back cover of some pressings does not state the song "Fuck tha Police" as existing on the record. This is most likely due to a typographical error or the producers had used too much of the space on the back of the album to the artwork. The original pressing for the album's Canadian release does list that song on the back cover. On the later pressing that included "You Spin Me 'Round (Like a Record)", the song "Everything Sucks" is actually the Andy Wallace remix version.
Felons and Revolutionaries is the debut album by American band, Dope. The album was released in 1999 on Epic Records and has sold over 236,000 copies in the United States; it was re-released on July 18, 2000, with the single "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" (the band's track from the American Psycho soundtrack) as a bonus track.
