Mit Alben wie "Night Of The Demon" oder "Unexpected Guest" gehört die Band aus dem englischen Staffordshire seit Ende der Siebziger zur Speerspitze der New Wave Of British Heavy Metal. 1979 gründen der Sänger Dave Hill und der Gitarrist Malcolm Spooner die Band Demon. Gemeinsam mit Les Hunt (Gitarre), Paul Riley (Bass) und John Wright (Schlagzeug) macht man sich auf, die New Wave of British Heavy Metal-Szene aufzumischen. 1981 sorgen Demon mit ihrem Debüt „Night Of The Demon“ auch direkt für Aufsehen. Der Nachfolger „The Unexpected Guest“ wird das meistverkaufte Album der Band. Nach den zwei progressiveren Alben „The Plague“ und „British Standard Approved“ stirbt Gitarrist Spooner im Jahr 1984. Mit neuem Line-Up ist die Band auch Ende der achtziger und Anfang der neunziger Jahre erfolgreich. Außer einer fünfjährigen Pause Mitte der Neunziger (der „Grunge-Dürre“, die für viele Metalbands auch das Ende bedeutete) haben sich Demon nie aus der Szene verabschiedet. 1997 geben sie ihr Comeback beim Bang Your Head-Festival, seitdem touren Demon wieder erfolgreich durch die Welt. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Группа из английского Стаффордшира с такими альбомами, как "Night Of The Demon" или "Unexpected Guest", является лидером новой волны британского хэви-метала с конца семидесятых.
