The band uses metatonal/microtonal scales. Their first release "Maniacal Meditations" is completely recorded in 16-notes instead of the conventional 12-notes typically used by metal bands.
This music requires guitars with unconventional frettings which the band members built themselves. Began in 2006 by guitarists Ron Sword and Mike Maletta, the band currently uses 16, 26, and 31-tone guitars and plays "the type of death metal we don't see as often".
Recorded with 16-tone equal temperament seven-string guitars in Mavila Temperament, as a musical representation of "Inverse" or "Anti-Diatonic". In this temperament, all step sizes 'Large' and 'Small', as well as musical triads are reversed. 'Major' becomes 'Minor', 'Minor' becomes 'Major' via microtonal temperament, teaching a lesson that applies deeply to life itself...
