A Dark Place is an Australian heavy metal band. Formed in late 2009
after collaborations between former ‘Godrott’ members Fub (Drums) and
Dez (Bass/Vocals) who at the time lived in Melbourne and Brisbane
respectively. Immediately Furn (Guitar) also of ‘Godrott’ was brought
onboard and shortly after B (Guitar) also joined completing the line-up.
On January 26 2010 Dez moved to Melbourne and ADP commenced
recording in a ‘music room’ built during 2009 in Fub’s backyard, which
was later dubbed ‘Rottgod Studios’ in honor of their former band. The
result was their first album ‘Suffering’, a ten track LP.
The
album was scheduled for production (1,000 copies) on August 2nd.
However, on July 31st after returning to Brisbane for his grandad’s 80th
birthday Dez was hit by a car on a dark suburban street. After twelve
days in a coma Dez died on August 12th. After a short break the band
decided to continue and went ahead with production dedicating
‘everything’ to Dez. At current stages B has taken up the role of vocals
and the band is working on their second album expected in early 2011.// link __________________________________
