What a Horrible Night to Have a Curse is the first release by American heavy metal band, The Black Dahlia Murder. It is the only album to feature bassist Sean Gauvreau who was replaced by David Lock. It was released independently in May 2001.
The title of the album is derived from the NES game Castlevania II: Simon's Quest; during the in-game transition from day to night, the quoted line would appear in a text box.
Despite the name of the demo, the song "What a Horrible Night to Have a Curse" is not included on this release. The song wasn't recorded until the band's 2007 album Nocturnal. "Burning The Hive" is also featured on the next The Black Dahlia Murder release, an EP titled A Cold-Blooded Epitaph.
