/ CALIGARI RECORDS is proud to present the highly anticipated debut album of Germany's HALLUCINATE, From the Bowels of the Earth, on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette tape formats.
Formed in 2021 and featuring members of Graveyard Ghoul and Karloff, HALLUCINATE quickly set to work to work on their first public recording, the two-song Demo '22. Even at this early stage, HALLUCINATE's sound was already exhibiting a unique flair: despite working within the realms of death metal, something strange was brewing there. Not for nothing were the band monikered as such; flourishes of heavy, dark psychedelia and prog swirled about in their murky cauldron.
Now that cauldron is set to boil over with HALLUCINATE's full-length debut, From the Bowels of the Earth. As vocalist / lead guitarist Persecutor explains, "From the Bowels of the Earth sprung forth from a very tough psilocybin experience right before the onset of the pandemic. It almost broke me mentally; I wasn't prepared for it at all. I started writing the songs in an attempt to put myself back together, trying to integrate that experience. It was a very dark and intimidating display of ancient powerful archetypes haunting me with synchronistic, apocryphal, and soul-crushing revelations - not the funky-shmunky colorful hippie shit most people associate with this stuff. So a psych-stricken, kinda-prog death metal record felt most natural to tell the story, where each song represents a stage of the trip with its physiological, psychic and spiritual implications."
Indeed, just a cursory glance at the album's attendant song titles - and in particular, the triumvirate of "Blackened Gills," "Black Smokers," and "Mahavishnu's Dream" - will tell you this is NOT going to be a Normal Death Metal Record. Yet, just the same, HALLUCINATE's idiosyncratic muse is one that's thoroughly integrated into their aesthetic - as rough-hewn as true death metal should be, but subtly (and sometimes not-so-subtly) stirred with an alchemist's touch - rather than retrofitting mawkish elements in a shallow show of "weirdness." It all starts with strong songwriting, is pushed forward with loose & locked-in execution, and then is embellished with tasteful touches of said psychedelia and prog, either in the solar-flaring leads or in dramatic-yet-smooth breaks. Further, From the Bowels of the Earth sees HALLUCINATE moving at many speeds, instilling many sensations along the way - foremost among them, comfort in dissonance and nature mysticism by way of suspended release - but always with the rumbling crush of classic '90s death metal. Nods could be made to Sweden's Seance and Desultory in the past or Chapel of Disease and Gold Spire in the present, but perhaps no better recommendation could come than with a guest vocal appearance by Sweven's Robert Andersson (of course, also ex-Morbus Chron).
"Psychedelic experience" can take on many different meanings for many different people, but those who can trace a through-line from Dismember to Skullflower are wholeheartedly encouraged to enter HALLUCINATE's From the Bowels of the Earth. /bc

Я всегда с большой осторожностью относилась ко всем формам металлического прогрессива. Но этот альбом — это нечто! Понравились почти все композиции. А "Purania" вообще, как говорят, сносит башку. Спасибо!
На первой песне кажется, что к вокалисту сейчас присоединится Джо Линн наш Тёрнер. Какой-то он жалобно-пафосный. Как Пьеро. А музон неплох. Спасибо, Жека!
К старому Scavenger эти юные леди & джентльмены отношение вроде бы не имеют, но, ежели так - то для дебюта весьма зажигательно и убедительно. В духе 80-х, без сомнения.
А в начале было жёстко, грязно и трэшево... а если и не совсем трэш, то мощно по Моторхэдовски что напоминает манто из озверелых голов похожих на конвертах легендарных Моторхэдов Мощный альбом для начала 90-х. Спасибо Snaggletooth! Вот уж тема для твоего ника))
Очень крепкий хард с южным привкусом, сумели французы удивить, слушать такое на колонках с-90, тебя буквально вдавливает в кресло,как они так сумели гитару классно использовать, и самое главное атмосферное а не гаражное звучание, ну а вокалист отдаленно мне напоминает вокал Оззи
Открывашка сносит башку... игра Рафаэля (Obsidious, Obscura) на гитаре известна своей точностью и скоростью и своему опыту работы в джазе и классической музыки... (так вот почему меня впечатлила?), а опыт Спиро в области аудиотехники идеально дополнила остальную часть трека. Может в том и фишка приглашённые солирующие, альбом звучит загружено что тот Лондонский симфонический - #6 опять же Spiro Dussias шикарно и продолжающий #7 и #8 грузят серьёзно и основательно
40 лет на сцене вызывает уважение! Летом 1984 года певец Стив Оверленд и его брат, гитарист Крис (оба ранее играли в Wildlife) объединились с барабанщиком Питом Джаппом (бывший Wildlife и Samson) и басистом Мервом Голдсуорси (Diamond Head/Samson), чтобы сформировать "FM". К декабрю того же года они заключили контракт на запись с CBS/Portrait , и отправились в Германию на несколько концертов с Meat Loaf. Туры с Тиной Тернер, "Foreigner" и Гэри Муром добавили им популярности. В сентябре 1986 года "FM" выпустили дебютный альбом получивший большое признание критиков, а год закончился тем, что группа поддержала тур Bon Jovi - "Slippery When Wet". В дальнейшем укрепили свои позиции активно гастролируя в качестве хедлайнеров, а также присоединяясь к таким группам, как "Status Quo" и "Whitesnake". А затем наступил творческий отпуск, который растянулся на 12 лет. В 2007 они собрались вновь и с тех пор не сбавляют "оборотов". 14 альбом приурочен к 40 -летнему юбилею группы. Спасибо Сергей!!!
Столкнувшись со сдвигом в рок-музыке, известным как “эра гранжа”, группа взяла паузу, чтобы возродиться с новой силой в конце 2023 года. Поработали дядьки славно над новым альбомом, драйва хватает! Спасибо Сергей!!!
