Fallen Decade is a Canadian thrash metal band formed by the former Cradle to Grave singer Greg Cavanagh and this is their debut album Under No God. I had no idea how they would sound so I was expecting metalcore or some other shit like that. Instead what I got was a high-energy thrash release. Short, fast and aggressive is the best way to describe this record, but that high energy is not the only thing to like about this album.
There is a ton of riffs to dissect on this record; they're just not that easy to follow along. The musicianship level is what you expect from a band that plays this type of music, they won't amaze you with their technical ability but they balance that with attitude. There are blazing guitar leads found here, you can hear the bass perfectly, the drumming does not get too out of control and for a small band they have solid production values. Songwriting-wise, there is enough variety that I don't feel that I'm listening to the same song ten different times.
Under No God could have been a great album but for me there are a couple of aspects that lower the score. First, the lack of a truly killer song. The disc has many good songs but none of them is a future classic or anything like that, it is just solid. Second, the singer, Greg Cavanagh, has that yammering style that I've never particularly liked. His voice is tailor made for a live environment but to me, it doesn't translate well into the studio. Although this album picks up momentum in the second half, it is not a record that I would listen to everyday. But if you just want to listen to 38 minutes of thrash mayhem, this record is as good as any.

У вокалиста нет голоса совсем не попадает в ноты, зато есть луженая глотка, упор в основном сделан на инструментал, поэтому композиции затянутые, ну послушать разок можно

Из новостей: Мелодик-рок-группа AUTUMN’S CHILD, лидером которой выступает шведский вокалист Микаэль Эрландссон (Mikael Erlandsson, экс-LAST AUTUMN’S DREAM), опубликовала обложку и трек-лист шестого альбома “Melody Lane” , который выйдет 23 января на лейбле Pride & Joy Music. Также стало известно, что в записи альбома приняло участие двое гостевых музыкантов - клавишник Джон Ленмюр (John Lönnmyr) из THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA сыграл в “Pray For The King”, а джазовая певица Йоханна Хьерт (Johanna Hjort) спела в “Lovesong”. AUTUMN’S CHILD работают как часы – практически каждый год в январе появляются ее новые полноформатники. В текущий состав группы вместе с Эрландссоном на вокале, клавишных и гитаре входят клавишник Клес Андреассон (Claes Andreasson), соло-гитарист Понтус Окессон (Pontus Åkesson) из MOON SAFARI, барабанщик Рикард Йонссон (Rickard Johnsson) и басист Магнус Розен (Magnus Rosén, экс-HAMMERFALL, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN).
